<\/p>\nThe Council for Open Judiciary held its second session today in the Supreme Court of the Republic of North Macedonia, where the Rules of Procedure of the Council for Open Judiciary were adopted.<\/p>\n

At today\u2019s session, Besa Ademi, president of the Supreme Court of the Republic of North Macedonia, and Zharko Hadzi \u2013 Zafirov from the Center for Legal Research and Analysis were elected co-presidents of the Council for Open Judiciary.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In her address, the President of the Supreme Court emphasized that the Open Judiciary aims to improve the transparency of the courts and increase trust among citizens, but also to serve as a mechanism for improving the status of the judiciary through full respect for the principle of independence in all forms \u2013 institutional, functional and financial.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
At today\u2019s session, it was emphasized that through the Council for Open Judiciary, the openness of the work of the courts and judicial institutions will be encouraged and the participation of civil society in the implementation and monitoring of the Open Judiciary initiative in the Republic of North Macedonia will be encouraged.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Council for Open Judiciary is a body whose members are representatives from all judicial instances and representatives of the Judicial Council of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Academy of Judges and Public Prosecutors, the Association of Judges, the Association of Court Administration, the Center for Legal Research and Analysis, the Institute for Human rights, the Macedonian Association of Young Lawyers and the Coalition \u201cAll for a Fair Trial\u201d.<\/p>\n
